God is seeking true worshippers whose worship involves every aspect of their lives. Jesus establishes this as our model when he says, “But the time is coming and is already here when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him in that way” (John 4:23, NLT). Eugene Peterson’s The Message states it this way: “Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before Him in their worship.” Here at Columbia Crossroads, it is our desire that every man, woman and child be confronted with an opportunity to become a true worshipper of Christ. It is also our desire that each member of our church consistently grow in his or her intimacy with Christ, and that this growth might facilitate a true heart for worship. In this sense, every ministry that our church extends, whether it be corporate or individual, organized or spontaneous, is a “worship ministry.”
As our church community comes together on Sunday to corporately worship God, we spend time praising Him through music. This is not only something we enjoy doing together, it is also something the Bible encourages us to do. The “Worship Ministry” is a ministry which seeks to serve as an outlet for those who are musically and technologically gifted to serve God by facilitating corporate worship on Sundays. Opportunities range from running audio and video equipment, to playing an instrument, to being a worship leader. Our desire is to help you grow in whatever area you feel God has gifted you and called you to serve.
